Flyball for Beginners

    Are you competitive?
•    Are you and your dog up for keeping fit?
•    Is your dog driven, have a recall and well socialised?
•    Have you ever thought about giving flyball a go?

We are a competitive Flyball Team based in in Allesley (Coventry) with a rare opportunity to take on another 1 or 2 dedicated beginners this winter.

We have a mixture of large and small breeds in Rebound from collies and lurchers to the smallest of terriers now racing competitively, so it would be great to bring in some young dogs to train up (pups can begin basic flyball skills from 12 weeks)

Flyball is a fantastic sport for fit and active dogs to enjoy. It's also great fun for all ages of human too inc the kids and teens!

We’re a small friendly team made up of friends and families who enjoy spending time with our dogs. Flyball competitions occasionally mean a team camping weekend, which means racing during the day and burgers/beers in the evening after Presentation  We also host a number of fundraising activities for you to get involved in such as tombola’s and car boots throughout the year, which helps raise money for training equipment and/or a local charity close to our hearts.

Our training sessions are indoors during the winter and outdoors during summer, usually on Saturday mornings. We train each week and we race competitively approx. 6-9 times each year (usually within a 2 hour driving distance of Coventry).

How to get involved

1. Claim your free taster session

Finding a new hobby or going to meet a new group of people can be intimidating, so we would like to welcome people to come and see a tiny piece of what Flyball is and what happens in a typical training session. You can also have a little go with your dog. If you would like to come for a free taster session, please get in touch for details of our latest training sessions.
If you would like to come for a free taster session or have any questions about the sport, please feel free to contact me via the contact us page or facebook messenger, Sade Hampson (Team Captain).

2. Flyball for Beginners Course

As Flyball is a team sport and our style of training is short and snappy (to keep our dogs energised and focused), Rebound has deigned our beginners’ course to welcome you into our team training format as opposed to being trained on an individual timeslot basis.

During the course you will have the opportunity to work with our experienced handlers who will teach you and your dog some of the basics of flyball, the equipment we use and more about the sport in general inc rules of racing.

You will also have the opportunity to handle an experienced and competitive flyball dog with our dedicated handlers on hand to help you along the way and help you gain confidence and experience running a Flyball dog.
